I just love a good sauce. This sauce is D E L I C I O U S! My mom makes it with beef. In my recipe, I decided to lighten it up! For my Weight Watchers friends, I used Ground Turkey Breast for the meat - (Zero Points). The sauce has a bit of sweetness to it because of the carrots! Just Delicious .... Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 tbsp Oil
1 Onion - Chopped
1 Garlic - Chopped
5 Carrots - Chopped or Shredded
3 Celery Stalks - Chopped or Shredded
16 oz Ground Turkey Breast
2 Cans Tomato Sauce
1. In a saucepan, heat up 1 tbsp oil. Add chopped onions and garlic and saute until translucent - about 5 minutes,
2. You can either chop or shred your carrots & celery - I choose to shred them with my food processor. Add them to your saucepan. Saute together - stirring frequently.
3. Add your Turkey Chopped Meat in - stir and break up the pieces with your spoon. Let cook together for 5-10 minutes.
4. Add your tomato sauce, stir & cover.
5. Sauce should cook for about 45 minutes.
